Eligibility

For Humanists and Social Scientists

Scholars in the respective fields having a doctorate or fitting terminal degree at least two years prior to appointment (by December 2016) in the area of the proposed project are eligible to apply. And the applicants must have published at least two articles in refereed journals or edited collections to apply.

For Creative Artists

they do not need to have a doctorate degree to apply for the scholarship but must meet other eligibility requirements. And they cannot be students in master’s programs or doctoral at the time of application submission unless the dissertation has been accepted by advisors.

For international students, DAAD provides scholarships in Germany for development-related postgraduate courses. The German universities providing scholarships are aimed at providing academic professionals with specialized studies from developing countries. It offers Master`s and Ph.D. programs. The applicants qualifying for the scholarship are awarded 750 euros for graduates or 1,000 euros for doctoral candidates and this scholarship duration is 12 months or 24 months.

The applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject with above average results and must have two years of experience. The applicants must not have a 16 years old degree

For study courses in German

 the scholarship includes a German language course of a 6-months of duration and only if you pass the course you get further proceedings Therefore applicants must know German at least at language B1 at the time of application and that too needs to be proofed by providing a certificate.

TOEFL (minimum score: 550 paper based, 213 computer based, 80 internet based) or IELTS (Band 6) certificate

3. Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships (Vanier CGS)

Vanier CGS aims at making Canada as a center of global excellence in higher learning and research field by retaining and attracting the world-class doctoral students. Therefore, this scholarship offers doctoral degrees or combined MA/PhD or MD/PhD. These scholarships are offered by Canadian universities which have an allocation with Vanier CGS. The total scholarships are Up to 166. One year worth of the scholarship is $50,000 and it will continue for three years.

Eligibility

Candidates must be nominated by a Canadian Institution with a quota at which they want to study. Candidates cannot apply directly to the Vanier CGS program. The applicants must not have had a doctoral scholarship before this from CIHR, NSERC or SSHRC and be nominated by only one Canadian institute that has received a Vanier CGS quota. And the applicants must be pursuing their first doctoral degree. The candidates must not have completed more than 20 months of doctoral studies as of May 1, 2020, and must have achieved the first-class average determined by the previous institute
